Election Day

It's officially Election Day, and yet I feel serene.

I think I've come to terms with the fact that things are going to be turbulent for a long while regardless of the outcome of the election. The election itself ultimately just determines the flavor of the turmoil.

So, with that in mind, here are my current predictions!

How will the Election play out?

• We'll know the election results within 3 days.
• Kamala Harris will easily win the Popular Vote.
• Kamala Harris has a 70% chance of winning the Electoral College.

What will happen if Trump wins?

• Liberals will be despondent for the next few months, but there will be no attempts to overturn the election.
• Trump will immediately terminate all of his criminal trials. He will also annul any sentencing that he already received. All of the evidence against him will be forcefully destroyed.
• Trump will also pardon everyone who was involved with the January 6th Insurrection. This includes Enrique Tarrio and the other domestic terrorists who coordinated their activities with the White House. So, we can look forward to a lot more chaos in DC again.
• Trump will quickly turn the DOJ against his most outspoken critics. This includes:
  • Everyone on the January 6th Committee.
  • All of the prosecutors in his criminal trials.
  • All of his former cabinet members who voiced concerns about his ability to lead the country.
  • All journalists who have reported on his crimes.
• Most of these aforementioned people will be declared guilty of treason unless they swear fealty to Trump. Many of them will flee the country before this verdict is reached. The rest will eventually be jailed or executed.
• Afterwards, Trump will begin to target everyone who speaks out against him. Instead of utilizing the DOJ, he will simply glorify his supporters whenever they impart "vigilante justice" on his enemies.
• Because it lacks a state government, DC will once again become a testbed for Trump's most autocratic tendencies. So, we can look forward to military occupation again!
• Trump will not impose a national abortion ban. However, legal abortion will largely become an impossibility for most people due to numerous coercive measures. (Ex: draconian state laws, bounty laws that span state borders, withdrawal of federal funding, etc.)
• Violence will fill the streets as Trump forcefully imposes his mass deportations.
• The economy will grind to a halt. This is largely because of the Trump Tariff, but the mass deportations will also play a significant role.
• Ukraine will be abandoned to Russia.
• Trump will help Israel wipe out Palestine.
• Trump will resign from the presidency within 18 months, handing control over to JD Vance.

What will happen if Harris wins?

• MAGA will become violent with rage. There will not be another coordinated insurrection like January 6th, but there will be numerous smaller uprisings across the country.
• Trump will go to prison for the rest of his life. MAGA will worship him as a martyr.
• Multiple wars will finally end because foreign leaders lost their gamble on a second Trump presidency:
  • Russia will be forced to pay reparations to Ukraine.
  • A ceasefire will be declared between Israel and Palestine. Hostages will be returned to Israel.
• The Border Bill will be passed as a concession to Conservatives. Liberals will be unhappy with this bill, and they will spend much of the next 4 years trying to relax some of its restrictions.
• The economy will continue to grow at its current trajectory.

But, what will ultimately happen to the MAGA movement? Unfortunately, I doubt that Trump's demise will be enough to kill it. It already metastasized during the 2020 election, and the Republican party was overwhelmed by demagogues and conspiracy theorists. Someone else will just take over from where Trump left off.

The only way to truly kill the MAGA movement is to address the root cause of its existence: the Republican party's weaponization of psychological abuse against its own constituents. But first, let's just focus on winning this election.
